  1. The diary of Sir Francis Drake
    Dear Diary,
Today was the most magnificent day of the sailing years. We went back aboard the Golden Hind. It is the largest ship of them all. We sailed right back to Plymouth Sound which was at the old England.
At that place, I saw a mighty crowd which gathered right round me and my crew. Even around the ships cute as well as bedraggled cat. Then I saw good old Queen Beth, she knighted me as Sir Francis Drake. I was so proud of what l did.
I hope you are extremely well.

    Dear diary,

Today I had the weirdest dream ever: one of my crew said we had to circumnavigate the world and for reason we did! After that my dream was shattered as I woke up because of my alarm clock. Honestly I went to sleep dot on one- no later, no earlier. I’m expecting you know what they say, “morning dreams come true” well if you don’t I suggest you learn more sayings or phrases. But do you believe “morning dreams come true?” Well I certainly do I ambled to the kitchen ship and helped myself with some food. An idea suddenly hit my mind it was a solid idea and felt as if a rock hit my head! We would circumnavigate the world but instead of someone telling me I will tell everyone. I had a good feeling about this to begin with- robbing all of the ships. But as the journey got on, everyone’s dreams started to walk away far as if they were stuck to our country. No ships were to be seen. One ship with tons of gold suddenly appeared with no question everyone jumped on. Spirits rose yet again and they were not to fall once more. I felt so happy along with everybody else this was definitely the best adventure I had ever experienced!

I return to Plymouth today and when I got to the town square, A BIG crowd began to gather round me and my shipmates/shipfriends. Then I saw an extraordinary sight that made my heart stop. The edge of the crowd opened likes mega doors opening and Queen Elizabeth I staggered in and said to me, “Hello sailor. Sit down and tell me what you have done.” She treated me wine and bear.I told her all about where I been and what I did. In the end, I shared some of my Spaniard’s gold. The Queen was very impressed about that that she knighted me and I became Sir Francis Drake. At almost night, I went back to my ship, the Pelican and sailed south. When I reach there, I attacked 2 ships and took more gold.

  5. Sir Francis Drake’s diary entry on the September 26, 1580:

    Dear diary,
Today, we (me and my crew) caught our first glimpse of the English port in Plymouth. As we docked the Golden Hinge, I felt a shiver of fear and excitement to tell the people where he’d been. Just then, a young lad in my crew called, pointing to a unnoticed crowd silently watching with awe. Then I spotted Queen Bess, smiling, in the commoners’ midst. The feel of fear took over telling me to run but as the Queen approached my legs had still not moved. So with hesitation, I sat. The Queen smiled and spoke softly “ Wher e have you been and what have you done?”. She beckoned to a young girl who stood clucing a basket of cheese and bread with 5 wine bottles. She hurried over and laid them on a table in front of us. As me and my crew sat and ate, my fear faded. I cleared my thourt and began to tell the tale…

    Dear Diary,
Today was the best day of my life. No Englishman has accomplished what I have just achieved today! It is a matter of great pride for my country that I have circumnavigated the world. I Sir Francis Drake will be remembered for years and centuries to come for my true bravery. I am exhausted of sailing for three whole years. Now I must get back to my family and eleven brothers now I must have a rest. It was amazing seeing Asia the biggest continent in the world. Also, I have changed my boats name The Pelican into The Golden Hind. When I got knighted by queen Elizabeth I It was amazing. Getting knighted by the Queen felt like I became the king of my own country. Now people deem me as Sir Francis Drake. Diary now I will rest because of my long voyage.

  11. Dear Diary,

Hello it's me again and I'm going to tell you everything!!

On September 26 1580, my crew and I returned to Plymouth, England, after safely circumnavigating the world. After that, we brought: silk, silver and golden coins. The other boats were called: The Marigold, Swan, Benedict and the Golden Hinde (our ship). Our ship was the only ship that made the complete voyage, returning on September 26 1580.

Not to make King Philip mad, there was no public celebration of me returning! That was sad! It was very hard work sailing around the world and every day I was so tired and exhausted! I thought we were going to fall of the edge of the world!!! Luckily, we didn't.

In England, everyone gathered around me waiting to tell them where I've been when suddenly, Queen Beth walked to me and I kneeled. Elizabeth I knighted me as Sir Francis Drake!

    During my trip:

On my 27th trip I became captain of my ship and I was really happy! Unfortunately, one day, the captain died and left his ships to me. I was feeling so blue! I was feeling so sad that I had to sell them.

    Dear Diary,

Today I arrived back in Plymouth after sailing around the world for nearly three years. So many emotions are rushing through me, I feel relaxed, tired, sadness and relief. Mostly I am proud as I am the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe. This is great news as I have accomplished a goal that I have set myself. The experience was harsh but fun. I am sad as well as proud because I went with 80 in my crew and came back with 56. It’s extremely sad as some of the crew who died were very dear friends of mine. I am extremely relieved as it was a slight chance that any of us would make it back to Plymouth. I am relaxed because there won’t be any ship work in store for me to do for a while. I am awfully tired as the trip proved horrendously difficult. Diary, I hope you are proud as I have £600,000 that I have brought home as treasure.

Today, I returned back home to Plymouth. I was bewildered and felt out of place. At sea, was where I belonged. For the last three years I captained the largest ship, the Golden Hind. The venture was breathtaking, facing and fighting destructive storms. Sadly, many sailors died from disease. The Golden Hind was one of five vessels to survive the expedition against the Spanish Armada. My convoy had successfully attacked Spanish Towns and ships, taking gold and treasure. We had defeated the Spanish Armada, this was a great achievement.

    Dear Diary,

Today is the happiest day in my life. First, I returned to Plymouth safely. After circumnavigating the world, I’m exhausted. I’m extremely impressed with myself too as I’m the first British man to sail around the world. I stole more than £300,000 worth gold and silver from the Spaniards.

After I returned to Plymouth shore along with my crew and the Golden Hind, people gathered everywhere to have a glimpse me and cheer. Suddenly, the crowd parted into two, leaving a little passage way between. There stood old Queen Beth.

“Francis, come here and get knighted”, said the Queen.

I stepped forward ready for the reward, as the Queen picked her best sword. While I was getting knighted, people cheered for me. It was the best day of my life ever.

    Dear diary,
Today, I wake up very early to navigate with my ship and start my expedition. I would like to visit different places to accumulate lots of gold and treasures. I am planning to round the Cape of Good Hope.
It was very challenging my entire navigation.Very exciting and adventurous I can say. I was able to capture a Spanish ship full of golds and treasures. What an experience! I always chase and captured a treasure ship and manage to get tons of gold, spices and treasures and because of this I was hailed as the first Englishman to circumnavigate the Earth. I was awarded of Knighthood by Queen Elizabeth I of England. I feel so honoured.

  19. Dear diary,

I was in England and sailed a really long time.Queen Elizeberth renamed Drake into Sir Francis Drake also Sir Francis Drake renamed the ship the golden hide.I thought all about sailing. When i went and sailed you know if you betrayed the captain then thy will nail you to the wall and do not move a bit if you do then the whole will get bigger and bigger until it will rip your hand really bad. The Miss Barbera will come and cut your hand off dip it in mettle to stop it to bleed and put it in tar and its done and it will get better but everyone will see you with a chopped off hand they might be scared you.So that`s why you should not betrayed a captain. Then that will happen. It is achaly true.
